I am an application developer at Bank of the West, where I have worked since 2001. My development career started by writing a leasing front-end system that today manages a $1 billion leasing portfolio in Java.
Databases rock. Seriously love Postgres. I currently manage several Postgres databases for the Bank and a datamart, in addition to my developer role.
Since then I have been heavily into Django and Python. The projects I can share will be listed on my projects page, along with some of my Open Source contributions.
Coding processes and tools is another interest. I have been driving adoption of new techniques for our development group, like code review, issue tracking, git and automated deployments.
I am also a former US Marine, Eagle Scout and I am currently finishing my Computer Science degree at Regis University. I pride myself in not (always) being the geek stereotype.
